Apollo 11 Visit - Kai and Kenny and me - Fifty years later

Page 2

Just the first stage of the Saturn V alone is a thing that defies belief. And that it flew. Straight up! Riding a torrent of flame. How can such things even exist? But they do. They do exist.
In otherworldly chiaroscuro the Apollo Command Module sits. A thing from another world. In fact.
Those who wore these helmets... Those who sailed the trackless seas of airless inky night... Those who went...
Kai and Kenny looking into the inside of the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM), looking into the very small space where two humans trusted their lives utterly to the machinery. Trusted their lives to metal, fabric, electricity, plastic, and propellant. Came down uncannily from out of a black daytime sky to alight softly upon the dusty surface of another world.
Otherworldly craft for otherworldly destinations. This LEM is an actual flight article that, sadly, was never given a chance to fly.
Kai and Kenny looking up at the other business end of the Saturn V. The end that carried the people. The end that went there and back again. While the Lunar Module glitters uncannily, just over their shoulders.
Kai has lifted Kenny up and they two of them are looking into that small space which three humans returned from the moon inside of, together. The Command Module was the only part of the whole enormous Saturn V vehicle that returned to Earth, intact.
Kai and Kenny return down the length of the Saturn V, the second stage of which looms imposingly above them.
